Plug it in
Power up
Shut it down
Start again
Lock it tight
Run it back
Cut the wire
Fade to black
Another day on automatic
Another face behind the glass
Everybody’s looking busy
Nobody’s looking back
Got a heartbeat in the static
Got a name I barely use
Every move is calculated
Every road already used
And I don’t wanna disappear
Inside a world that runs on fear
There’s something underneath my skin
That you can’t program back again
I’m human after all
I feel it when I fall
You can turn the whole world digital
But you can’t turn off my soul
I’m human after all
Still standing through it all
You can build a perfect replica
But you can’t make it whole
Feel it
Break it
Lose it
Take it
Feel it
Break it
Can’t replace it
Everybody wants an upgrade
Everybody wants a fix
Put a price on every feeling
Turn a heartbeat into clicks
Got a million little answers
To a question no one asked
Keep your finger on the trigger
Keep your future in the past
And I don’t wanna disappear
Inside a world that runs on fear
There’s something underneath my skin
That you can’t program back again
I’m human after all
I feel it when I fall
You can turn the whole world digital
But you can’t turn off my soul
I’m human after all
Still standing through it all
You can build a perfect replica
But you can’t make it whole
Zero
One
Zero
One
Something’s wrong
Something’s gone
Zero
One
Zero
One
I can feel
What I’ve become
No reset
No rewind
No replacement
For a mind
No reset
No rewind
There’s a heartbeat
Still inside
I’m human after all
I feel it when I fall
You can turn the whole world digital
But you can’t turn off my soul
I’m human after all
Still standing through it all
You can build a perfect replica
But you can’t make it whole
Feel it
Break it
Lose it
Take it
Feel it
Break it
Can’t replace it
Plug it in
Power up
Shut it down
I’m still here.
We live in a world that is becoming increasingly automated. Algorithms anticipate what we want, machines learn our habits, and almost every part of our lives leaves a digital trace. Human After All was born from a simple question: What remains when everything around us can be calculated, copied and optimized?
The song explores the thin line between human and machine. Its opening feels deliberately mechanical: commands, repetition, numbers and a robotic voice create a world in which everything seems controlled. But underneath that cold surface, something refuses to follow the program. A heartbeat remains.
That contrast runs through the entire track. The verses are restrained and almost detached, describing a life on automatic, while the choruses deliberately break out of that controlled environment. The sound becomes wider, warmer and more emotional as the human voice begins to overpower the machine.
Musically, Human After All combines retro-futuristic synthpop with a driving disco pulse. Analog-inspired synths, electronic textures and robotic vocals represent the artificial world, while the increasingly expressive male vocal provides its human counterpart. As the track develops, those two sides begin to collide rather than simply coexist.
The central line — “You can build a perfect replica, but you can’t make it whole” — captures the idea behind the song. Technology may imitate our voices, our appearance and perhaps even our behaviour. But being human has never been about perfection.
It is about feeling. Doubt. Failure. Desire. Memory. The irrational things we do and the connections we cannot reduce to data.
By the final moments, most of the machinery has disappeared. What remains is a natural voice and one quiet statement:
I’m still here.
And perhaps that is the entire point.
However sophisticated the machines around us become, there is still something deeply imperfect, unpredictable and beautifully difficult to reproduce inside us.
We are human after all.
